Ingredients for Carrot Slice Baklava
1 pack of baklava dough
200 grams of melted butter
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 cup of Antep pistachios
For the Syrup
2.5 cups of granulated sugar
1.5 cups of water
1 slice of lemon
How to Make Baklava
First, prepare the syrup by mixing sugar and water and bringing it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat, add a slice of lemon, and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.
Melt the butter on the stove and remove any foam that forms on the surface.
Take the baklava dough out of the package and cut it to fit the size of your baking tray. Make sure to cover the remaining dough with a clean cloth to prevent it from drying out quickly.
Grease the bottom of your tray and place three layers of the round dough inside. Brush the dough with melted butter. Place the leftover pieces of dough in between the layers, and remember to brush with butter every 2-3 layers.
When you reach the middle layer, brush it with butter and sprinkle pistachios evenly over the entire surface. Continue the same process until you finish the dough.
Place the final layer of dough on top and cut it into carrot slice shapes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Once out of the oven, slowly pour the room temperature syrup over the baklava.
Let it absorb the syrup and rest before serving. Enjoy your meal!
