    Hira Dessert Recipe

    ,Hira Dessert is a beloved traditional Turkish dessert celebrated for its moist texture and rich, sweet flavor. Made with semolina and soaked in a fragrant syrup, this delightful treat is often enjoyed during special occasions and festive gatherings. Hira Tatlısı is perfect for those looking to indulge in the authentic flavors of Turkish cuisine, providing a delightful end to any meal or a sweet accompaniment to a cup of Turkish tea.

    Ingredients for Hira Dessert Recipe

    For the dough:

    Half a glass of yoghurt, vegetable oil (100 ml)
    1 egg, packet of vanilla, packet of baking powder, glass of semolina
    1.5 cups of flour
    Zest of 1 orange (or lemon zest)

    To coat the outside:

    Semolina

    For the syrup:

    2 glasses of granulated sugar, 2 cups of water (400 ml)
    How to Make Hira Dessert Recipe

    Prepare the Syrup:

    Combine sugar and water in a suitable pot. Stir with a spoon until the sugar dissolves. For this dessert, the syrup is prepared without boiling.

    Prepare the Dough:

    In a kneading bowl, whisk together the oil, yoghurt, and egg.
    Add the orange zest, vanilla, baking powder, semolina, and flour to the mixture. Start kneading until you get a slightly sticky dough.

    Shape the Dough:

    Take small pieces from the thickened dough and roll them with your hands.
    Coat the shaped pieces with semolina and place them on a baking tray. Continue this process until all the dough is used.

    Bake the Dessert:

    Bake the desserts in a preheated oven at 170°C for about 25 minutes.

    Combine Syrup and Dough:

    Place the cooked desserts in a deep bowl. Pour the cold syrup over the hot desserts and let them rest until the syrup is absorbed.
